OVERVIEW:
Is a leader in the Publishing industry. This position provides specialized technical voice support to all business units. This includes managing the day-to-day customer requirements and delivering voice communication services.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
- Provides first level voice support to customers for all MAC related activity
- Provides support for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Nortel platform M1 PBX and Norstar and Centrex product lines.
- Troubleshoots problems and system failures and interact with suppliers and carriers as required, as well as cabling and wiring issues
- Works closely with voice communication product development and evaluation and assist in major installs
- Develops and implements highly proficient solutions to difficult problems using standard methodologies.
- Provide specialized technical knowledge in the planning and design of communication solutions to meet business functions.
- Ensures that the communications solution is designed, tested, documented, implemented, enhanced, and corrected according to departmental standards and expected service quality.
- Documents processes and trouble tickets as outlined in procedures.
- Lead or participate in a project team for the delivery of cost effective voice solutions
- Provide backup support to other team members in the delivery of voice communication services
- Provides support for VOIP
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Nortel PBX Hardware and Software Programming
- Knowledge of Telco Central office troubleshooting.
- VOIP, IP trunking and IP connectivity
- The use of Punch Down tool, Butt set phone, Warbler.
- Knowledge of Telco Central office troubleshooting.
- Knowledge in cable troubleshooting.
- Contact centre experience a definite asset
- Apply knowledge and skill to device and produce innovative approaches and solutions in the communications area.
- Provide leadership and direction in application of communications technology to business solutions in ill-defined or ambiguous problem areas.
- Comprehensive knowledge of communications hardware, software, and networking applications.
